As we end our second class, I feel it was harder than I thought to write an essential question. While Julie and I were brainstorming about our essential questions for our solar system project, it really made me think about what we were going to teach and how we were going to get the student's thinking. I really like the idea of continually going back to the essential question during the unit.
It was interesting to hear from Dan again about how he used the Big 6. He has such strong ideas and feels so passionately about this.
Because of this course I know Julie and I will be able to write " good thought provocating questions."

Lib, you and Julie are a great team, and a real asset to the school. Your willingness to move forward instead of surfing the status quo compliments your expertise with kids. Thanks for your enthusiasm. It's great having both of you in class.
And I really like the revisiting of the essential question during a unit, too. It keeps everybody on track, I think.

I remember how you and Julie were Steve and my guinea pigs for our Big6 graduate class project! You already know a lot, and are both willing to change and grow. That's important.
EQs are great...difficult but an important guiding light to a unit.
